RAID ON GAMING HOUSES.

ACCUSED BEFORE THE COURT. PER I'KKSS ASSOCIATION - . CiritisTCHi'itcn, January 2. The Magistrate's Court and preemts were orowded to-day, when the in™ captured by tho police in yesterdays raid came up before Mr H. W. Bishop S.M. Matthew Livingstone, Matthew Bar. nett and Peter Grant were each charged with keeping a gaming house. On the application of the police, accused wero remanded for a week, bail being allowed in sureties of £IOO each. Maurice Hislop was charged with assisting in tho management of a Gaming House and J. Robinson, Edward Biggs, Wm. Alexander, E. Bates Henry Hensley, Chas. Isaacs, Bernard O'Brien, and Fredrick Brown were charged with being found in a common gaming house without lawful excuse. Accused were remanded until Tuosday next, bail being allowed in sureties of £5 each.
