RAILWAY COMMISSIONERS' EVIDENCE. | Received 20,11.59 p.m. Stdnet, December 20. Tli° ltailway Commissioners gave evidence before the Commission of Inquiry. The chief Commissioner stated lie found that by giving contracts to coal oompanys outside of the Lithgow Association he got the advantage of lowor prices.- His fellow Commissioners ignored his opinion and made a four years agreement with the Asso ciatiou.
Mr Kirkaldie declared, in reply that tho contract was the best bargain ever made, and that the two Commissioners acted upon , the advice nf their officers that outsiders coal was not. suitable.
