Owing to wet weather the formal opening of the Fitzroy Green bad been coinpulsorily delayed until Thursday afternoon w hen I he cercinonv look place in the presence of a large number of enthusiast in Ihe game 1W well as visitors. There was quite a large gathering ot ladies and the scene was tery pleasant to look upon. A considerable contingent of the Town Club was present. Ihe consequence being Ibal there was a full greeu of players and some good contests.
