NO-LICENSE GARDEN PARTY.
Mr Pikclt's pretty grounds at Fitzrov looked their best in the sunshine of yesterday afternoon on the occasion of the gathering of workers representing (he 2so-licen.se League, W.C.T.U., nnd the Voting Men's and Young Women's No-lieen.se Clubs. There was a good attendance. Occasion was taken to welcome Mrs Allan Douglas anil her daughter back into the ranks of workers, ami a handsome boiupiet and spray were presented on behalf of the W.C.T.V. .Mrs Douglas suitably responded. Short speeches were made bv the liev. .1. N. llultle. Messrs C. K."Bellringer, .Maunder, Goodacre, P. White ami H. .Nixon. During thi! afternoon, lea was served, followed bv several musical items l.y Mrs I'ikeil, Miss Goo,here, Messrs II <sl:uii and Nixon. A most enjoyable afternoon was brought to a hippy conclusion by the according of voles of thanks to the ladies for the 'tei. nnd to Mr ami Mrs Pikett for their kindness in placing their grounds at the disposal of the visitors.
