HIGH SCHOOL BOARD.

At the last meeting of the High School Board of Governors there were present: Messrs MacDini'irM (Jhairman), Fraser, Roy, and Dockrill.

The resignation of Mrs Gaul -odgcr as sewing mistress was accepted.—Applications will be invited for the position, Mr Fraser to make a selection.

The Governor will be requested to re-elect Messrs MacDiarmid and J. E. Wilson.

In answer to the Principal's letter he will be informed that the Hoard had no intention of charging any portion of the extension from the house to the school, which was done under misapprehension. The Board considered', however, that he should, as heretofore, p.iy half cost of the telephone to the private house.

On the motion of the Chairman, sec onded by Mr Doekrill, it was resolved that on the occasion of Miss Grunt's visit to Europe the Board desires to express to her its appreciation of her past services, and to wish her a pleasant and profitable holiday. The Chairman and Secretary were authorised to draft and s.'iul Miss Grant, under s.ul of the Board, a letter of htroduct. ju to k ndiedinstitutions.

The Chairman ami Mr .Roy were requested to s -o into the matter of making enquiries re valuations of improvements on the Manaia leasehold when let.

llosolved: That the next meeting of the Board be held on the last Wednesday in January, lUUfi. Mr Doekrili was given permission to hold over his notice of motion to dinontinue attendance prizes after this year; and in the meantime the Principal will be written to on the matter. The Secretary was instructed to invite the members for the district to the breal'ng-up ceremony on the 21st iust. Accounts amounting to £2lO 2s lOd were passed for payment.
