DAMAGES FOR SLANDER.
[Pbk Press Association.] Ashmhton, December 5. At the District Court, William Comber Brown, u milling engineer of Christchech, and bis wife claimed £2OO from Andrew Young, of Ashburton, and bis wife for slander contained in his letter to a Christchiirch resident, in which it was alleged thai plaintiffs lof* without paying their board and rosidence, and that Mrs Brown stole £2 while residing at Young's. The jury awarded plaintiffs £SO, and costs £ll 1-is 4d.
