At the championship tennis tournameiit there was witnessed a great contest between Dunlop, who captained tlie recent Australian team in England, and Curtis, in the semi-iir.al of tlie singles championship match, which took three hours to decide, Curtis won by superb play, bis score being—•l -0,11 -9, C f), 6-4. Dunlop was exhausted with the battle, and lost the doubles championship also, In the singles, Lycctt, the New Zealancler, was beaten in the semi-final by Heath. The latter plays Curtis for the championship. In the mixed doubles, New Zealand (Miss Powdiell and Lycctt) 1 qualified for the play oil'.
