(Per I'ress Association.) DUNKDINj.Nov. 22. Conside \ihle interest was token in tie meeting of tlic City Council tonight owing to a notice of motion given by Cr. Wilton in connection witli the electric tramway. A letter was read from Moves Bros, expressing ■surprise that such n notice should have been given; and emphatically denying there was anything in connection with the electric tram demanding inquiry, and challenging Cr. Wilson to formulate any charge. Cr. Wilson asked leave to withdraw part of his motion suspending Moyes Jfros. as managers, but this was not given. He was, however, allowed to movefile motion in three divisions. The first motion, tint a special committee be set up to inquire and report into the whole of ■ lie present inana',ement ol the electric ti*am service, was then moved by Cr. Wilson, who declined to formulate any charge in open Council. In the discussion, Cr. Wilson was condemned forgiving notice of such a motion. The Chairman of the trams committee said he believed tie whole thing was the outcome of tittle-tattle on thepurt of servants. The motion was lost by 9 votes to 7, and the second portion was then withdrawn.
