EGG-LAYING CONTESTS.

(Per Frcss Association.) BLENHEIM, Nov. 18. The total for the twenty-ninth week of the New Zealand egg-laying competition is 2158, the grand aggregate being now 32,710, the weekly average being 21.58. The highest layings for the week are Jonathan liodson's White Leghorns, Coles' Minorcus, Mick Shaw's White Leghorns, Ashworth's Silver Wyandotte.s, Snodgrass' Black Orpingtons all with 82. The order of merit in the grand aggregate is : - Leger's White Leghorns 811, Brookes White Leghorns 771, Marlborough A. and I', Association 843, Mick Shaw's White Leghorns 727, Jonathan Hodson's White Leghorns 7M. There are over 100 hens in a broody condition.
