Mr Joseph Mackay, was entertained at a farewell banquet at tho Midhirst Town Hall on Tuesday evening, prior to his departure on. a trip to Knglnml. Tho gathering was very largo and representative and the guest uf the evening was greeted enEulogis'ticlroferancea wore made to his valuable services as County Chaisman, and member of tha Mang-anni lioad Board, the BtJucation and Hospital Boards, and a hope was expressed that he would return to Midhirst tuid continue his work fcr the benefit of Taranaki. Miss Rigby, ol Banks Peninsula, has been appointed to the Kltham Road School. She will take up her duties 011 Nov. 20.
