The official weekly review of progress of the New Zealand International Exhibition states that *t a meeting of the Horticultural Landsca|>e Committeee the question of holding i series ol shows by the Horticultural Society was discussed, and It was decided that an application for funds should he made to (lie Finance Committee to enable live shows to he held to take place at intervals during the progress of the exhibition. At a meeting of the Fine Arts Committee, the Bub-committee recommended that representatives should be sent from the colony for the purpose of obtaining the loan of pictures in the United Kingdom and the Continent. The recommendation was 1 adopted, and it is to he forwarded to the Finance and Executive Committees for consideration. At a meeting of lite Transport Committee the Chairman reported that, in response to a communication with, reference to i, railway siding, Sir Jos-i #ph Ward had notified that the work would bo put in hand at once. The question of the limited meansi of bringing visitors to the colony-was considered, and it was decided to write to the Union Steam Ship Company and the Huddart Parker Company, inviting them to.meet the committee in conference to discuss the in*tier.
