The House met at 2.30 p.m. The Civil Service Superannuation Bill was introduced by Governor's message and read a first timeThe Workers' Dwellings Hill was considered in Committee, but very little progress was made. EVENINCf SITTING, The House resumed at 7.30 p.m. In committee on the Workers' Dwellings Bill, the definition of "workers" was altered to include every person, male or female, who is employed in work of any kind, or in manual labour, and who at the time of his application-is not in receipt oi more than £156 per annum. Mr Seddon said he intended to bring down a Governor's message to increase the amount to be expended in a worker's dwelling from £3OO to £350, in order to test the feeling of the House as to whether the freehold oi properties should be parted with. Mr Taylor moved to strike out the proviso in clause 8, dealing with the freehold. The motion was lost by 38 to 23. 38 to 23.
