ESCAPEES FROM PRISON

(Per Press Association.) Hotorua, Oct. 5. Robert Maclaren.J alias Johnston, and Leedham Whitehead, alias Mills, alios Sweeney, two prisoners who escaped from Waiotapu Prison on September 27, were sentenced to four and six months' respectively, the former pleading guilty. Both accused were charged with breaking into and sleuling from the Waiotapu Hotel the same night. Maclaren pleaded gu ; Uy, and was committed for sentence, and the other wa» sent up for trial.
