Preferential Trade Mooted (Received Sept, 29, 10.44 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Sept. 29. Mr Deakin has received a communication (from the Governor-General of Canada, asking, on behalf of his Government, that preferential trade re- „ lations be established between Australia and Canada. He asks whether the Commonwealth is prepared to offer tariff concessions to Canada, oc whetherithe Commonwealth prefers to make the subject one of considerations by a conference of dele-gates, representing Australia and Canada.
