At a meeting of the Auckland Educational Institute, a discussion arose concerning the payment of tTic expenses of transit when teachers are transferrer! from one district to another. The) following motion was carried—"That it be a remit to tlve annua! conference of the New Zealand Educational Institute that tho Department bo asked to pay the travelling expenses of 'teachers incurred during trans-it, and that a sum be placed on the estimates foi this purpose."-
