Holders arc not anxious to quit, and present indications are that prices will advance. Medium has little or no inquiry, but is being sold for fowl wheat, the latter being scarce. Seed wheat to 3s 6d, prime milling 3s Id to 3s 3d, medium milling and best whole fowl 2s lOd to 2s Hid, broken and damaged 2s W to 2s 9d ; sacks extra. | Oats—Stocks in stores very light, I and very few coming forward ; export demand small. DUNEDIN STOCK MARKET, DUNEDIN, Sept. 20. At the Burnsidc market fat cattle to the number of 251 were yarded, the greater portion being of medium quality. In steers and heifers, with an od»l pen of prime, the yarding proved excessive, and there was a fall of 10s to 15s per head, most noticeable in medium. Bullocks from £9 to £ll, good £7 10s to £8 15s, medium and light £6 to £7 ss, best heifers £(i 10s to. £B, good £5 to' £6 ss, medium and light £3 15s to £1 7s Cd. Fat sheep.—3oJo were penned. In good to prime wethers, with a few pens of extra prime ewes, there was a large yarding, and an absence of export demand resulltd in a fall of 2s to 2s lid per head at the start, but prices improved towards the close. Best wethers 24s lo ffis 7J, extra up to 27s «d, good 21s to 235, others up to 20s, best ewes 22s to 21s lid, others up to 20s s Fat lambs.—There were otilv eight penned, the first of the season, and uhey sold under keen compeeition at 23s Cd. Pigs.—2oo'wrre yarded. There was a brisk sale for bacon pigs, hut porkers were easy; suckers and slips were in large supply, hut the sale was dull.
