At a meeting ot the Executive of the Kcrth Canterbury Farmers' Union to-day, a deputation from the implement manufacturers wattid on the meeting re too Harvester Trust i After the position was discussed, the following motion was ■adoptud the executive :—(1) That the proposal to movv l*arliauicnt to impose prohibitive Customs duties on imported farm impivments ami machinery is premature ; (2) that no sum- J Cient reasons had yet been shown for any special legislation aimtd at the] International Harvester Trust Company of America ; (3) that the Ex-i i ccutivc recommends the members of the New Zealand farmers' Union and farmers generally to encourage and support, as far as possible, the purchase and use of New Zealand trade farm implements and machinery, and thus wicouragc local industry. Cop'.«t of the resolution were ordered tw be sent to the Premier,, members of the Cabinet, and all M.II.R.'s, and the colonial and pro-i vincial executives of the Union.
