NO-LICENSE CONVENTION". Beautiful weather and a perfect uay favoured those who journed out to Okato for the convention of NoLicense supporters and sympathisers, which was held on Thursday, this 14th. The afternoon meeting was held in the Method-ist Church' kindly lent for the occasion. The attendance was good. New Plymouth, liahotu, and 'Pungarehu were especially represented. The other places turned up better at night. Mr Hal. (Jowlacre presided at the afternoon meeting, and Mr Delirniger spoke on '''flow to Win Votes for our Electorate " ; Mr Jlnumler on "The Best way to .Spread cur Literature ; " Mr Christopher "On the Women's Interest in No-Ltictitee ;; " [Mr I on "This Question as it Affects the Maoris," while tile liev. H. FoKtoil dealt with "Our Work on Polling Day."

The following resolution was moved, after considerable discussion, by Aft' Maunder ami seconded by Mr Smith: "That Messrs (loodncre ami Bellringer, with the mover, be instructed to prepare and forward to the Hon. the Native Minister, a resolution from this cenvention drawing his attention to the newspaper report of drunkenness among the Maories of llahotu on pay-day."-The meeting was of a spirited nature. The delegates were heartily welcomed on behalf of the coast b.V Mr Ilughscn, ami responded to bj Mr S. 11. White. Apologies for absence were rotol from the llev.s. ert Haddon and J. 'W. Worb.oys. Tea was provided in the hall, a large number partaking of the some. A public meeting at 8 o'clock,presided over by Mr J. Pcnivarden, cf Tataraimaka, was well attended. Addresses were given by the Chairman, Hev. Post on, and musical items by Mr Christcpher, Mr Uellringer, ami Itahotu, I'uivgarelm, Okato, ami Tataraimaka friends, Thanks wero accorded to all who l.nd in any way helped to make the, convention a success.
