PARADE OF STALLIONS

Tlio annual parade of stallions held under the auspices of the Taranaki Agricultural Society on Saturday morning at tfew Plymouth made a very good display of horseflesh, and | | great interest was taken in the cxhibitsj There were ten horses in tliq parade, well, teprestntativc of the district. After assembling in Egmont Street the horses were paraded down) Devon Street and taken to the railway reserve near the Haymarkct, where a considerable number of farmers and other spectators congregate ed. West's Lord Kitchener, by Albury (New Plymouth) ; C. Tapp's Tip Top, by Judge Beldtn—Lady Vermont (Inglewood) ; J. Love's Berlin Abba and Judge Carden, both by Judge Belden—Caroline (New Plymouth). Draughts.—H l . Purdy's Lord Roberts, by Herd Laddie—Princess (Tikorangi) ; R. Johnson's Lord Dairy mplc, by; Wallace—GraCi Darling (Inglewood) j W. Jordan's British King, by. On the whole the quality aod function o[ the horscsi was excelle u, showing that the breeds of the i'istriet are proceeding on the right lines, lhe draughts; were a nice Tot, one or two being in show the thoroughbreds were scanned will interest, and both looked well. Tht imported Obligado made a good impression. The hackney and coaching stallions were a good, useful class, showing quality, but hardly in the pmk of condition. The arrangements for the parade, which included almost every horse in tlio neighbouring district, were carried out by Mr E ! "Wster, secretary of the Society.
