THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14.; HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.: The House mot at 2.30 p.m. The Education Committee 'brought up its report on the Teachers' Su. perannuation Bill, and recommended that preparation should be made for an annual payment by the State of £17,000 in order to make the scheme actuarially, sound, and that a quinquennial 'investigation should take placo and the fund 'be readjusted. The deWate on the land fjuostdon was then resumed.
EVENING SITTING. I The House resumed at 7.30 p.m. The Land debate was continued throujjjljout the evening. Speaking to Mr Massey's amendment, Mr Seddon said he would accept" the decision' -of Parliament on the question. There was no tenantry in the world "which was so happy, contented and prosperous as the tenantry of New. Zbaland, and he did not believe they would kick away the ladder upon which they had climflrt-d to opulence and prosperity. He did not _})oiieve that Crown tenanjts would take advantage of the corruption offered by the Leader of the Opposition, and lie asked the House to support him in hiis desire to enable the poor men in the future to the same prosperous, condition as j£as enjoyed by Crown tenants to-day.
