FIRE ON A BARQUE

(Per Presa Association.) CHRISTCMBCH, Sept. 13. A fire broke out this alter noun in the sail locker of the Norwegian barque Alma, 479 tons, lying at Gladstone pier. The vessel had discharged her cargo of guano, and had tak® in ballast preparatory to saillug for Surprise Island. A lighted candle was overturned in the locker, and set fire to a pile of oakum. Hio outbreak was only extinguished, after somo difficulty, with the assistance ol a tug and the fire brigade, fivo or six sails being badly charred and burned.
