TERRIBLE RAILWAY ACCIDENT
TERRIFIC IMPACT. TEN PERSONS KILLED AND FIFTY INJURED. (Received Sept. 3, 4.7 p.m.) IX)NDO.N, Sept 2. The London to Cromer oxpress wag wrecked near Withani. Six women and four men were killed, and fifty others injured. The metals show no, fault. The train was approaching Witham at full speed, when a .carriage ,wbb derail, ed, it is believed through the fracture of an axlo or from a sharp curve. The , train suddenly parted, and four carriages in the rear section mounted the station platform, t no turning a somersault, and demolished t|io porters' room, killing a porter. The | carriages were heaped up by the terrific impact. There wero many;, miraculous escapes, including that of a party ol forty of Dr. Bernardo's children. A, gasometer buri.t, firing an overturned carriage of the front section, but the sole occupant leaped out safely before the carriage overturned
