(Received Aug. 31, 9Ai p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 31 The eclipse of the sun was observed in a clear atmosphere at Tripoli. Tlie Sadow bands were particularly lint, ami the corona evenly developed. There were no long streamers. Splendid observations were taken at Guelos, Burgo, Sfax and Malta. Three new sun-spots were noted at Washington, and four groups of sun- | spots of unusual size were seen in Cincinnati,
