Schoontr Supposed To Be Lost

(Received Aug. 31, 9.57 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 31. There is a tremendous sea on the coast, and it is feared the schooner Jones Brothers has been lost on the Oyster Bank an Newcastle, .with all hands.

The vessel left last night, coalladen, in tow by the steamer Helen Nicol. The signalman saw the steamer with the vessel in tow making back for port at one o'clock this morning. The vessel seemed to disappear and the steajner made out to sea.

Until the Helen Nicol arrives at Sydney nothing will be known as to whether she rescued the crew. A search on the Oyster Bank disclosed wreckage, the masts of a schooner sticking up.

Io Hope of Crew Being Sued.

(Received Sept. 1, 0.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 31. The Helen Nicol reports that the tow-line broke, and that the steamer, being in great danger of going on the Oyster Bank, steamed to sea safely. There is therefore no doubt that all aboard the schooner perished. The crew consisted of:—Olscn (master), Jenkins (mate), with Malley, Shield, Mason and Peterson as crew,
