HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. The House met at 8.30. Mr Speaker read the report of the Auditor-General on the enquiry into the alleged "Scddpn voucher.' 9 The report was ordered to lie on the Üblo,
[ (Further particulars will be found elsewhere in this issue.) | Mr Seddon expressed satisfaction at the cable news received that peace had been proclaimed, and said all must rejoice in knowing that the terrible war bctweun Russia and Japan was at an end. He felt that our Gracious Sovereign, "Edward the Peacemaker," had something to do with the declaration of peace. He asked members, by acclamation, to receive the glad and welcome tidings.
Loud applause from all parts ol the House followed the Premier's remarks.
The Maori Land Council Bill was read a second time on the voices ant referred to tho Native Lands Com-, mittee.
