(Per Press Association.) 1 AUCKLAND, Aug. 28. Further particulars of the recent volcanic eruption in Savaii show that residents at Sofold were awakened by shocks of earthquake and reports like the firing of heavy runs. The whole place was lit up, a.m a fresh crater broke out, the flames shooting up about 400 feet, and at intervals of 10 seconds throwing out huge stones and lava. There was no damage to life or property.
