Myers), after - thanking vj-ie deputation, said he considered their request was a gratuitous insult to him personally. The members of ' the deputation knew he was a member of tho firm, of Canqfbell, Ehrenfried, and Co., well-,known brewers, and apparently desired to place him, in an awkward position. However, he would'advise councillors to have nothing to doj, with ethics, and he mpved a resolution declining tno roguest of- tho de. putation. 1 The resolution was carried unanimu ously. Rev. J. J.
