It is belieted, however, thnt ho left for Fiji by the Taviuni on the same afternoon, and the authorities at Suva have bora com municated with by cable. It is authoritatively announced thfct considerably more than £IOOO is mlsrfng from the club's 1/an.kHng account, and that probably th'o amount will be found to bo close on twice that sum. The auditors are at work' examining the accounts with a view to arriv ing nt Jhe figures. At thje annual meeting of members of the Auckland Racing Club, held on Mondiay afternoon Ipst, the statement of receipts and expenditure in oonnection with trie general account showed a balance m tho bank of close on £9OO.
