"Plant" of Stolen Jewellery.
Suspicious Characters Arrested. (Per Press Association.) DIj'XEDIN, Aug. !>. At the Police Court to-d«y, Walter Attow.'ilo, Robert Augustus Pahiur and Win. Jones were remanded on charges of vagrancy, as other eli/irges arc pendilng. Detectives have discovered a I "plant" of jewellery where the men resided, and the articles have been recognised as having been stol ,v n frOm three different houses during the past f-w days. Fixsh developing its ore expected within a few days. Finger prints of accused have been sent to tho Wellington bureau for examination and c miparis-on. It is believed the men have worked theiif \\v\y down from Auckland, culling at Wangnnui, Wellington, and Christchurch before commencing opeijations here.
