TheDnty tn Harresters. ii Ugl; P.nmonr Abroad. (Received Aug. 9, 11.33 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Aug. 9. In the House of Representatives an adjournment was moved in order i to discuss Sir W. Lyne's raising thj . duty on harvesters. Mr Reid and others urged it was .never intended for a Minister to use the arbitrary poweis given him hi this manner. Sir W. Lync had practically found the Massey Harris Company guilty without giving them a chance of replying, and his action was taken in such a manner as to prevent any redress. Sir W. Lyne replied if they wislit-vi to biing action against the Government, members would toe given every facility to do so. During the debate on the Trades Marks Bill, Mr K'r.ox declared he had heard an ugly rumour that th« Labour Party had bargained with Mr Deakin to support the Government if he would concede the Trades Union tbe label provided for in the Bill. (Received Aug. 9, 11.25 p.m.) MELBOURNE. Aug. 9. The Encouragement to Manufacturers' Bill has been re-introduced and read tbe first time.
