FOOTBALL.
QUEENSLAND v. METROPOLITAN. (Received Aug. 9, 9.51 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 9. The football match, Queensland veN sus Metropolitan Union, was drawn, tbe score being six all. The second trial match between the Northern and Southern divisions, for theTatanaki "rep." team, is fixed to be placed at Stratlonl today. On Tuesday a very interesting and exciting game of Association football was played between teams representing "Upstairs" and "Downstairs" of the New Plymouth Sash and Door Factory. In the first lew minutes "Upstairs" had their opponents hard pressed, and after a pretty piece of passing, -R. Tooke, as quick as lightning, shot a splendid goal. Shortly alterwards J. Richards put in a good kick, wMch S. Howell followed up and after a.fine bit ol dribbling put in a feeautilul goal. This was shortly afterwards -repeated by W. Richards. The game throughout was very even, "Downstairs" eventually wining by 2 goals to I. For the winners Jack Richards played a splendid game as did alsotSammy Boulton for the losers,
