HOTELKEEPERS' LIABILITY.
(Per Press Association.) GISBORNE, Aug. 2. In a licensing case to4ay the Magistrate held that an innkeeper was liable for the acts of his servants during his absence, and fined defendant £lO, with costs £2 ss, for permitting drunkenness on his premises, but in view of circumstances did not direct that the conviction be recorded on the license.
