TRIED FOR BIGAMY. (Received July 25, 11.7 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 25. Mrs James, who was committed tor trial on * charge .of. bigamy, made a lengthy statement, and reiterated that she never married James. She impersonated Mrs James, who is her half-sister, and also impersonated Mrs Bentley, thereby reccivingj money from Jaimes' in New. Zealand, and from the barracks here as the wife of Bentley, who was a member of the Bushmen's Contingent for South Africa. Her present husband, Constable Baker, knew of both impersonations, and benefitted from the moneys. She denied giving vitriol to her girl to throw over Baker.
