SLY-GROG IN A RESTAURANT.
A BOY CONVICTED AND FINED. i (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, July 25. I At the Police Court to-day Mary Jack and Harry Jack were charged with sly-grog selling. Harry, Jack pleaded guilty, and his mother, Mary Jack, not guilty. The latter kept a fish restaurant, ami when a constable in plain clothes and another man entered they were met by Harry Jack, who showed them into a room ami supplied them with beer. The place was subsequently, raided, when a dozen bottles of beer were found, with indications of drinking having taken place. Tlic case against the woman was dismissed, a? there was no evidence her. The son, who is eighteen years of age, was fined £lO and costs' £llss the S.M. letting him off lightly on account of his,youth and the family being very poor.
