(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 19. At the Agricultural Conference, Mr T W. Kirk, referring to the potato Wight, emphasises the necessity ol spraying, because unless there was a very dry season, farmers would suffer more severely during the coming season than last year. On the lowest estimate he placed the loss by the potato disease at £132,000. Mr Glass (Westland) moved that the Department of Agriculture be ur«ged to do more to assist settlers in the latest methods of cheese and butter making.
