Adopted by a Millionaire.
THE FORTUNE OF A CHILD IN A WHEATFIELD, Some months ago a baby was found in a wheatfield at Stoke Pogis, near Slough, close to where the poet (.Hay wrote his famous Elegy. II was taken to the workhouse, where it has been well looked after. It is ten months old now, and a fine bouncing boy. A lady guradian, Miss Tollemache, declared to her colleagues that there were hundreds of people in the world probably without, children who would be only too glad to adopt the infant.
The fact having become known through the press, an Australian millionaire has visited the workhouse with aviewol adopting the foundling. The millionaire and his wife arc childless.
