Borough Works Committee.
The Borough Works Committer met on Friday evening. Present : His Worship the Mayor (Mr R. Cock) and Crs. Uurgess, Brooking, Browne, Collis, Cliff, Ewing and Tisch. The following resolutions will be submitted to the Counpjl oi) Monday evening. That, in view oi the previous decision of the Council that tlw accident insurance should bie given to pach company in turn, the resolution passed at the last meeting of the Council authorising the accident insurance to be renewed with the Government Insurance Department be rescinded, and that the accident insurance be placed with the Ocean Accident Company lor the ensuing year. That permission he granted to the Pou|try Society to hang posters across Devon antl Currie Streets on the 28 th and 2!* th proximo. That Mr K. Van Deiden be permitted to transfer his billiard room license to Mr W. Muirison. That Mr Alec Mason he granted a lease for one year of section 7!)1 , Dawson Street, at a rental of is per annum, under certain conditions. That the letter from Messrs McWiHiams and Andrew, asking for further progress payment he lefcrred lo Mr Meslayer. That; tenders be called for the construction of the power house. That the Town Clerk be authorised to grant a rebate of half-rates tu Mr Orover for house on sections 1-MG and 1472, unoccupied for over six mon lbs.
