Barrett Road Board.
A. meeting of the Barrett Road Hoard was held at the office of the secretary (Mr P. C. Morton) on Friday. Present: Messrs R. George '(Chairman), D. McAllum and F. Gil-
Ichrist. I The Borough Council requested the | Board to pay half the cost of wire fencing at a dangerous portion of the cutting in Cutlield Road.-Agrecd to. The new roll for DJOS-6 was laid on ! hire tabic and duly sinned. The val-i nation showed but a very slight/ advance over last year's figures. II was decided to increase the rate from id to jjd in the £ for the ensuing year. Mr S. Shaw, on behalf of Mrs Shaw, wrote agreeing to dispose of a strip of over half an acre of land, portion of that required by the 1 Board for the widening of the Devon ! Road extension. The terms were \ agreed to. The secretary stated that. ; an expected offer from the adjoining ' tenant, for the sale of a similar strip had not yet come to hand. It Was decided to call the ■attention - of the Borough Council to the - state of the water tables in Cut■f field Road from St. Aubyn Street' to Bine Street and from Pow(lerham Street to Devon Street, with 3 the request that they be cut so as to " carry the surface drainage on the ■" town side of the road, as otherwise the Board's roads were liable to damage. '' It was decided to serve notice on 'J several owners to cut furze. ,_' Accounts amounting to £27 Oswere ' passed for payment.
