COLLIDES WITH A TRAIN.
A CARTER SUSTAINS SEVERE INJURIES. —~~ 0 (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 3. John Small, a carter residing at Ladbrooks, whilst driving two horses in a carl over the railway crossing near Prebblcton, was run into by the 4.45 p.m. train from Chris: .:huv!. to Southbridge. Small was brought to town in a semi-conscious condition. On being examined at the hospital it Was found that several libs were broken, and it is feared he is hurt internally» u i. One of llic horses was so badly mangled that it had to be shot. The dray was carried lrv the engine about a chain along the "line, and was then thrown off.;
