j V.R.C. GRAND NATIONAL. (Received July 1, 7.35 p.m.) MELBOURNE, July 1. The Grand National Hurdles, three miles, resulted York, 12.1, 1 ; Old Ohappie, 9.5, 2; Adjuster, 10.8, 3. Twenty-three started. Betting: 5 to 1 Oblivion, 33 to 1 York and Old Chappie. Passing the stand the second time Oblivion was in front, with York second, but at the river the latter went to the front, and at the sheds the order was—York, Oblivion, with Loch Loehie, Merrion and OM Dhappic close together. York came into the straight full running, and won by five lengths. Time, smin 50 SCC.
