DARING JEWELLERY ROBBERY.
PLUNDER WORTH HUNDREDS. (Per PVess Association.) WELLINGTON, July 2. A daring and cleverly planned robbery took place a), the residence pf Mr R. P. Collins, Brqughass Street, a), s-hqut halfcpast one this morning,Mr Collinw and his wife were awakened by the movement of the door of their bedroom, and they heard footsteps descending the stairs. There was a light burning in the room at the time, and this seems to have enabled the burglar to carry out his work with great promptitude. He seems to have gone direct to the receptacle in which Mr and Mrs Collins' jewellery was placed. He made a clean sweep of both, carrying away plunder to the extent of £SOO or £6OO.
