DAMAGED DREDGES. (Per PVess Association.) WESTPORT, June 27; More definite information concerning the damage done to dredging goes to show that tho Buller Junction dredge is stranded on a beach near CroaweU's paddock'. She Hppears to- have sustained little damage, so far as: is at present known, but it will require a goc)d flood to place her again an the river. Otherwise she will havo to 13e re-launched.
The Welcome dredge is sunk in a fairly gowl position, but the extent of the damage 'is not yet available. The Fern Flat dredge appears to be hopelessly smashod. The Pren'ier. Mokoia, Fedderson s, llock\ands. and Old Diggings dredgos are understood tjo l>e intact. The"*roaoß are badly cut awny in places, particularly so near Berlin."?, and even by thosie on foot it is passable only wi'th much' difficulty. Telephone communication with Karamea is still intorrupted.
