Sudden Death.
An inquest was held at Warea at U p.m. on Sunday concerning the death of a young man named Allan Richard Corbett, aged 22. who died suddenly at ihis father's residence on Saturday. The jury consisted cA —Messrs D. Elwin (foreman), AClothier, 'J. Knights, C. H. King, \V. Julian, and Wm. McLachlan. Evidence was given by William Hcvell, farmer, and Henry Corbett, farmer, father of deceased, to the efl'ect that 6n Tuesday last young Cerbott was engaged at a cutting, loading earth on a dray. When the dray was filled, deceased got on to a ledge in the cutting to pick more material down, but slipped and fell backwards on to the dray. He got up again, and in reply to his companions' questions said that he was not hurt. He finished his day's work, and appeared to bo all right, but on Wednesday complained ol soreness across tho chest and back.; His father intended to send him iii for medical treatment, but owing to the bad weather ho decided to leave it to the following day. That wvenn ing deceased experienced difficulty in' breathing and became paralysed in the left log and arm. On Saturday morning Dr. Walker was communicated with by telephone, and despatch* ed a cab to bring tho sufferer into New Plymouth for admission) 9 to the hospital. Tho young man expired, however, just after tho cab reached Waroa.
Dr. Walker, who conducted the medical examination, deposed that death was due to spinal hemorrhage. A verdict in accordance with the with the medical testimony "was returned.
