In n.nchulim; his annual address to numbers of the TuranakiChombcr of Commerce, the Prescient (Mr M. Fruscr) remarked "1 have just, a word to say for ourselves. It has bei'n siid of this Chamber that wo are a: bop and do not really represent, (tin commercial interests of Tu-i-aiiaki. I can ussuro you, gentlemen, tiiat Mir s.Cielary has given a great deal of his time to the work of thta Chan:! er during: the year. Tho Council, and, indeed, all the members, have l:«n rjady and willing to give their tline to th" work put before them. In my address I have not enumerated the local work such as we have to do to secure the daily service to Aucklund and tha South Island. Much time has been devotod to lecal matters of this kind. We have now a membership of eighty, as compared with forty-seven last year, and I consider the Chamber js thoroughly representative."
