ACCIDENT WITH X RAYS.

Mr Wright, electrical instructor at the School of Mines, who rectivatl iar juries to his hand while working | with the X rays, has been granted six months' leave of absence on full pay to enable hiui to proceed to England to have the injuries treated by experts. The peculiar gradations of the injury are must perplexing, apparent recovery being succeedod by painful and distressing symptoms. To avoid tho dunger of a development similar to that which occurred to an assistant in Mr ]£dlson's laboratory, where the injury wus followed by amputation, the jCouncil of the School of Mines, with the consent of the Mines Department, decided to take tho step ind cated. It is believed to be tho first case of the kind in Australasia.
