Carroll, shows that the area of native land dealt with during the period, January Ist to October 19, 1900 (that is prior 1« the Maori Land Administration Acf), «as 2.M ,408 ncros whilo 'rom October 2(Mh, 19(K>, to April' 30th, 1905 (since the passing of tho Act of 1900), the total was 1«6,448 acres, a grand total of 420,916 acres for the ten years, not including a large area dealt with by the East Coast Native Trust Lands Board,; and other large blocks with since April, of which returns! are notJ available.
