Fitzroy Fire Brigade Ball.

The second annual ball promoted in connection with the Fitzcoy Vbo Brigade duly eventuated on Thursday evening, proving a highly successful eocial function. The attendance, though not up to the splendid; |figures,recorded last year, was very sausfuctvoiy, despite the unpropiti- ' oua weather. The visitors included ■aiptains of the Stratford, inglewood and New Plymouth brigades,, Mr I£. M. Smith, M.U.U., being ulso piesent. The Mayor was unable to attend through Council business*. The. large hull looted quite a pcture with its wealth of decoralions, ior which credit is due to the uiuinbeis of the '(brigade. With an enjoy- . aWe dance programme, a good lloor, and music by McKiniion Huin's orchestra, which all votaries of the Teipsichorean art fully appreciate,, the hours passed uway very pleasantly, indeed Messrs E.
