(Per Press Associatioa.) DANNKVIKKB, June 1. The Arbitration Court was engaged to-day hearing the case in which '] Uomas Murray sued William Hathbonc, of Waipawa, for the sum of £l5O, compensation for a permanent injury to a thumb received whilst repairing defendant's iencju. The medical evidence thawed that the thumn was permanently disabled.; The case tor complainant was that he was engaged chopping a tree with an axe when he jarred his hand. Inflammation of the bone supervened, and a joint of the thumb was removed. Defendant did not deny the liability, but urged that the amount claimed was excessive.. Judgment was reserved.
