THE NURSING HOME TRAGEDY.

CHRISTCHUBCH, May 3U Susan Wood, proprietor of the nursing honle at which Miss Constance Cuddon died on May 3, an d Mabel Atkinson, niirr.e at the same homer were at the Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr Boy, S.M., charged with having caused Miss Cuddon's death by placing her in a straight jacket, and thereby committed the crime of manslaughter. Both accused were represented by counsel. Evidence similar in character ta that at the inquest w a s given. Counsel for defence did not address the Court. The Magistrate saiil a prima facie case had been made out, and accused, •who reserved their defence, Were committed to the Supreme Court for trial, bail being allowed in sureties' pj £IOO eas*.
