AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION.
THE NEED FOB EXPERTS. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND. May 31. <U a meeting of the Education Board Mr J. M. Stallworthy moved • "That an agricultural expert should forthwith be engaged to direct agricultural education m the primary schools of country districts. The matter, he said, should tie no longer aclaved. Some person of authority should point out the lines upon which agricultural instruction was to be pursued. . ~ The' Chairman thought the ni&ttcr should be referred to the chief inspector and director of technical education to report.Mr J. D. McKcnZie said people in the country did not appear to want agricultural education, ,Mr Parr held that the Hoard should do "the work itself, without reference to the LXsparUncnt. There ,was no need to go out of tho cok'iiy for an agricultural expert. Mr Bagnall felt sure the farming community was quite in earnest about itj. Farmers felt th a U they should be as liberally treated in regard to technical education as th» townsmen. It was finallv resolved to refer the matter to the* director of technical education and chief inspector to report to the next meeting .of the Board. '
